31 July | Health Equity Webinar: Healthy Ageing For All

Date: 31 July
Time: 12.30 pm – 1.30 pm
Location: Online

There are huge inequalities in how well we age across the country, as measured by life expectancy, healthy life expectancy and the prevalence of specific health conditions. As our population ages, the Centre for Ageing Better is working to ensure that more people experience good health and wellbeing in later life.

Join the team from the Centre for Ageing Better to find out more about healthy ageing, how our older population is diversifying and the inequalities between people and places. The team will also share their work in local communities through the UK Network of Age-friendly Communities using the World Health Organisation’s framework, and to reduce the number of poor-quality and unsuitable homes which negatively impact people’s health.  The webinar will also feature the experience of Leeds, which combines its work as an Age-friendly and Marmot City to tackle health inequalities across the city.

Confirmed speakers at this webinar include:

  • Natalie Turner – Deputy Director for Localities
  • Helen Laird – Head of Public Health (Ageing Well)
  • Charlotte Lewis – Senior Programme Manager for Localities
  • Nazia Azad – Programme Manager for Homes
  • Sarah Wilkinson – Evidence Manager for Research, Impact and Voice
