Have Your Say on the Future of Transport in West Yorkshire
Forum Central is working with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to make sure the voices of our communities are heard in shaping the new Local Transport Plan (LTP), the long term strategy that sets out how transport will be improved across our region.
This plan will guide major decisions on buses, trains, walking, cycling, road safety, and accessibility. It will influence how funding is spent and what priorities are taken forward. It’s crucial that this plan reflects the needs of all our communities, especially those who are often underrepresented.
The consultation is open now until Tuesday 21 October 2025.
Whether you’re an individual or representing a group, this is your chance to share your views on how local transport should work for you and your community.
How to get involved
You can take part by filling in one of the online questionnaires, available in a summary, full or Easy Read version, depending on how much detail you would like to share.
Find all the information and access the surveys on their website: https://www.yourvoice.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/hub-page/local-transport-plan
Host a Community Session
To ensure diverse voices are heard, Forum Central is offering grants of £370 to community organisations to host a 2-hour discussion session between 11 August and 26 September.
We’re especially keen to hear from:
- Culturally diverse communities
- Women
- People with disabilities and/or sensory impairments
- People with mental health problems
These sessions will be supported by Forum Central and will provide a space for your members to share their transport experiences and needs. We’ll provide guidance, support with facilitation, and include all feedback in the official consultation report.
The grant can cover:
- Room hire
- Refreshments
- Transport
- Staff or Volunteer time
We have a limited number of grants available so if you are interested or would like a conversation, please call Tracy Lenihan on 07526 360 408.
