Thrive at Work in Leeds – Helping Your Workforce Flourish

Supporting the wellbeing of staff isn’t just a nice thing to do – it’s essential for building strong, resilient organisations. In Leeds, we’re fortunate to have a dedicated programme designed to help employers make this a reality: Thrive at Work in Leeds.

Developed by the Leeds Health and Care Academy, Thrive at Work offers free guidance, tools and resources to help employers across the city create workplaces where people feel valued, supported and motivated. Whether you’re a small voluntary organisation, a large employer, or something in between, this programme has something for you.

Why staff wellbeing matters

When people feel supported in their workplace, they are more engaged, productive and likely to stay. A healthy work culture also reduces stress, improves morale and fosters creativity. Thrive at Work helps organisations understand the different ways they can embed wellbeing into everyday working life – from practical actions to culture change.

What the programme offers

The Thrive at Work in Leeds programme is built around helping employers take tangible steps to support their staff. It offers:

  • Practical tools – Access ready-to-use templates, action plans and self-assessment tools to help you make positive changes straight away.

  • Guidance tailored to Leeds employers – Advice based on real-life examples from across our city’s health, care, voluntary and community sectors.

  • Support for all organisation sizes – Whether you have two staff members or two hundred, the resources are flexible enough to meet your needs.

  • Ideas to build a positive workplace culture – Learn ways to encourage open conversations, improve morale and recognise staff achievements.

The Hub offers a range of support services, including:

  • Health and Work Coaching Service – a combination of work coaching, health coaching, and social prescribing to help employees manage their health at work. Download Poster

Making wellbeing part of your workplace culture

The aim is not just to have one-off wellbeing activities, but to weave health and wellbeing into the DNA of your organisation. That could mean building regular wellbeing check-ins into team meetings, ensuring flexible working policies are clear and fair, or making sure managers have the skills to support their teams.
