Leeds Community Power Fund – Now Open
Applications are now open for grassroots organisations in Leeds to apply for grants of £10,000 to £20,000 to deliver projects that empower communities and support positive local change.
What is the Leeds Community Power Fund?

The Leeds Community Power Fund, funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), is designed to give local people and organisations more influence and control over decisions that affect their lives.
By shifting power and resources into the hands of communities, this programme supports the belief that people best understand the needs of their own neighbourhoods – and, with the right support, are best placed to lead change.
A total of £200,000 is available for Leeds-based projects that promote:
-
Community-led action and decision-making
-
Increased engagement in local areas
-
Activities that build pride in place, equity and inclusion
Projects must be delivered between September 2025 and March 2026.
Who can apply?
This opportunity is open to grassroots organisations working at a local level in Leeds. Whether you’re a community group, voluntary organisation, or small charity, if your project aims to strengthen community voice and participation, this fund could support you.
Councillor Mary Harland, Leeds City Council:
“We’re excited to launch the Leeds Community Power Fund that will build on the skills and assets of people and places, and give more power to the communities.
We recognise that to tackle and reduce inequality, increase diversity, and improve the impact of our services and people’s experience of them, we need to embrace and reinforce community power. This is at the heart of our ambition to make Leeds the best city in the UK.”
