26 June | Compassionate Leeds Trauma Informed Community of Practice

Date: 26 June 2025
Time: 3.30 pm – 5.30 pm
Location: Online

This session brings together practitioners from across health, education, social care, and the third sector in Leeds who work with children, young people and families. Together, we’ll explore how we proactively support staff wellbeing — not just through policy, but through the small, everyday actions that build a culture of care.

This is not about waiting for crisis or challenges — it’s about (but not limited to!):

  • Checking in during team meetings
  • Prioritising wellbeing in inductions or supervision
  • Using tools like Wellness Action Plans
  • Taking small, intentional steps to support colleagues

Campfire Stories

Hear from a range of voices across the sector, sharing real-life, tangible examples of what it looks like to put care into action. Speakers to be confirmed.

Trauma Stewardship

Connect | Develop | Influence

As a member of this Community of Practice, you will:

  • Connect with others across the partnership, build relationships, and shape
    shared language around trauma-informed practice.
  • Develop practical understanding through stories, ideas, and reflection — and
take away real ways to embed these in your work.
  • Influence change at individual, organisational and system levels, as part of
    the Compassionate Leeds programme.

Who is it for?

Anyone working with children, young people and families in Leeds, from any role or sector, who is passionate about strengthening a culture of care within their team or organisation.

If you’re interested in speaking as part of the Campfire Stories or want to nominate someone, please email sally.drinkwater@leeds.gov.uk. Campfire Stories are designed to be informal sharing of stories of about 5-10 minutes.
