Supporting the third sector

Leeds Provider Partnership Collaborative Development
Forum Central is supporting an important conversation about how we strengthen provider collaboration across health and care in Leeds and how the third sector will help shape the next steps.
Upcoming event
Date: Tuesday 5 August 2025
Time: 12:15 pm – 2:00 pm
Venue: In-person event – details coming soon
We’re inviting third sector colleagues to join this session as part of a wider piece of work being led by The Value Circle, who have been commissioned to help shape the future of provider collaboration across Leeds.
This is a chance to influence the recommendations and roadmap being developed in partnership with NHS and Leeds City Council (LCC) colleagues and ensure the third sector continues to play a meaningful role in the future of our health and care system.
From 12:15pm to 2:15pm, there will be a dedicated Third Sector session with The Value Circle. They are supporting key Leeds partners to develop closer working and integration as our Leeds Provider Collaborative evolves. Some of you may have attended the launch of this work on 30 May at St George’s Church.
This session is an important opportunity to share your Third Sector perspectives on work being developed in Leeds by NHS providers in partnership with Leeds City Council. It aligns with the national direction set by government, which sees Integrated Care Boards becoming strategic commissioners and delegating more functions and responsibilities to provider organisations working at ‘place’ level. This work builds on some excellent examples of partnership and collaboration already happening in Leeds.
Why the third sector matters in this work
Leeds has long recognised the vital role of the third sector in supporting people’s health and wellbeing. Voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations bring deep-rooted connections to communities, trusted relationships, and a flexible, person-centred approach.
As the future of provider collaboration in Leeds is being shaped, it’s essential that third sector voices are involved from the outset — not as an afterthought, but as co-creators.
This next phase of development is about designing the roadmap together. Forum Central is working to ensure our sector is at the table, helping shape the recommendations that will influence how services are designed, delivered, and experienced across the city.
Join us at the upcoming face-to-face session on 6 August to help shape this work and highlight the strengths and perspectives of our sector.
About the review
Leeds has a strong history of partnership working across health and care. To build on that, The Value Circle has been asked to work with system leaders to explore how provider collaboration could be further strengthened in Leeds – and how we align with current national and local priorities.
The review offers an opportunity to:
-
build on our existing foundations,
-
embrace new policy directions,
-
and ultimately better meet the needs of people and communities in Leeds.
What’s happened so far?
-
June – mid-July: Initial engagement and document review
